Spring/Summer 2025 will bring Fort Lauderdale’s up-and-coming Thrive Art District its first kava bar. Called Casa de Kava, this new spot for kava, kratom, and tea will launch at 710 NW Fifth Ave, Suite 1040, according to submitted plan review documents.
“It’s bringing kind of a Wynwoodish vibe to the area,” Jonathan, owner of Casa de Kava, told What Now on Monday. “We’re trying to have cool art, plenty of space for working, hanging out with friends, or watching sporting events.”
The new space will feature seating for about 48 guests, including both high tops and other work-friendly surfaces and comfier lounge-style seating.
“We’ll have one or two pool tables, 6 flat screens, really a bit of everything.”
The location doesn’t have a kitchen, but Jonathan says Casa de Kava will still have a selection of grab-and-go style snacks, in addition to its kava, kratom, and flavored and unflavored teas.
The location is now under construction, and Casa de Kava’s targeted opening date is June 1st.
