According to SF Eater, Chef Tamearra Dyson has returned to Oakland and brought the vegan soul food concept Souley Vegan along with her.

Opening at 101 Broadway, the eatery will soon be neighbor to establishments such as Buttercup, Plank, and the Japanese restaurant Yoshi’s.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Dyson to inquire about her plans for the spot, but she could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the Souley Vegan website offers a brief introduction to the chef and the concept: “Tamearra is a visionary force in the vegan industry… Tamearra’s achievements include being voted one of the Top Ten Soul Food Restaurants in the country by USA Today and having her Okra Gumbo featured on Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus Tour, among other prestigious recognitions.”

“Her journey reached new heights when she became the first vegan chef to defeat the unbeatable Iron Chef Bobby Flay,” the statement continues.

According to the Journal, Dyson “plans to open fully as a restaurant the first week of April.” Stay tuned for updates.
