Playa Bowls continues to expand its footprint throughout the Valley; this time, an existing franchise owner is preparing to open three new locations in Phoenix.
Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on local franchise owner Brad Crider scouting sites in Norterra, Dessert Ridge, Lake Pleasant/ Happy Valley, and Glendale to open four new locations of the brand. Now, it appears another existing franchise owner is also interested in taking over Phoenix. A representative from Playa Bowls tells What Now Phoenix that Zack Markham will be opening three locations this year. Markham and his wife, Erica, own and operate the Playa Bowls in Queens Creek and Chandler.
Now, the duo is getting ready to open a handful of more locations throughout the Valley, starting with a new location in Mesa at 554 W Baseline Road in a Fry’ s-anchored shopping center. After this, the couple will stay in the area and open a new Playa Bowls location in the East Gate Plaza at the Northeast corner of Ellsworth and Elliot Roads in Mesa. Finally, the company will open a new location in Higley Commons at the Southeast corner of Higley and Ray Roads. It’s unclear exactly when these locations will open, but it will likely be later this year.
Between Crider and the Markhams, Phoenix is set to see a massive influx of Playa Bowls in the coming years. Currently, the company only has three locations in the state, including a location in Scottsdale at 8870 N 90th Street, Suite 103. By the time these two franchise owners open all their locations, Arizona could have as many as ten locations throughout the Valley. Playa Bowls serves healthy, delicious açaí, pitaya, coconut bowls, and smoothies with sustainability and community in mind, using the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.
