Bikanervala, an Indian multinational snack food company and restaurant chain headquartered in Delhi, is preparing to open its first Arizona location in Chandler at 1055 S Arizona Avenue, Suite 1.

The company’s seventh U.S. location is set to move into the former home of Jimmy John’s in front of the Walmart on the southeast corner of Arizona and Pecos. It’s unclear when Bikanervala Chandler is expected to open, but it’s likely the first half of 2025, offering a variety of sweets and desserts, many not found elsewhere. Sunil Walia is the founder and head of business development of Bikanervala USA and is leading the expansion through America with the help of franchising.

This is a massive accomplishment for the company, as this location will become the first Bikanervala in the Southwest. The company started out as a small sweet shop – Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar in Bikaner’s old city area of Kote Gate by Shri Lal Chand Agarwal. The shop initially sold a few sweets, and namkeen was tuned to the tastes of Bikaneris. The two brothers setup shop in Delhi’s Chandini Chowk and started selling sweets and namkeen. Using their family recipes, which were handed down from generation to generation, the culinary experience was something the capital had not witnessed before.

The company is now expanding its presence in the United States, with additional locations set to open. It has several restaurants in New Jersey, Kansas, and Texas. Each location offers an authentic taste of India, featuring menu items such as Chhole Bhature, which consists of fluffy, golden bhature served with a bold and spicy chickpea curry, as well as Raj Kachori, a crispy, hollow kachori filled with a tangy mix of potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt, and chutneys, and topped with crunchy elements. Bikanervala provides dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
