A Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will open at 1755 Hilliard Rome Rd in Hilliard, according to a permit filed with the city of Columbus. As detailed in the permit, the new construction project is estimated to cost $1.9 million. The establishment will be built in a busy retail area that includes a Sam’s Club, BiBiBop Asian Grill and Krispy Kreme.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has more than 400 locations across 36 states, with 15 restaurants currently open in Ohio. The Hilliard Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers franchise will be owned and operated by Ohio based DJ Hospitality Group.
One of the staples of the menu are the steakburgers, served with two patties and available on a regular bun or pretzel bun, on toasted bread as a patty melt and loaded up with things like lettuce, tomato, jalapeno or bacon. In addition to burgers, there are also chicken sandwiches and all-beef hot dogs to choose from, all of which can be paired with fries, that are available topped with chili and cheese.
Other sides include onion rings and cheese curds. Frozen custard is offered in a cone, dish or blended with things like cookies into a concrete, served as a shake, or as the filling in an Oreo cookie sandwich.
