A bakery offering non-traditional pies is being planned for Frisco. “We won’t offer your classic apple and pecan pie. Instead, we’re going to do our own take and offer fruit cream pie and a maple pecan pie,” said Julia Henricks, owner and CEO of The Pie Dish.
The building at 7967 Custer Rd. in Frisco is still under construction. Once they are able to move into Suite 200, Henricks thinks they will have about four months to build out their space. Plans are to open The Pie Dish to the public sometime in October 2022.
The Pie Dish will be Henricks’ first restaurant. Her background is actually in bio-medical engineering. “I did that for a while and decided I really didn’t like it. So, baking has always been my one, true hobby,” she told What Now Dallas. Henricks decided to make a career out of baking, found a bakery job, and discovered she loved it.
The Pie Dish will be a quick-service concept, so guests will come in and grab either an entire to-go pie or by the slice. “We hope to see people, and we hope to be a place that y’all can come for your pie wants and needs.”
