A restaurant chain that focuses its extensive menu on scratch-made items is expected to open another Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex location, this time in Garland. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is expected to open at 5180 N. President Bush Hwy. in Garland sometime in the spring of 2024, according to a recent press release. It will mark the brand’s sixth location in the DFW area.

“We look forward to bringing our concept of delicious food, warm hospitality and small mountain-town vibes to Garland. Lazy Dog has been received with open arms as we’ve joined new neighborhoods, and we can’t wait to be part of this community,” said Chris Simms, founder and CEO of Lazy Dog Restaurants.

The new location would be about 9,300 square feet and include a patio. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar has multiple locations across DFW including in Addison, Allen, Arlington, Euless, and Plano. The brand has grown to include dozens of locations across the U.S. since Simms and his father, Tom Simms, founded Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in California in 2003.

The menu features queso, street corn fries, crispy deviled eggs, and cheddar cheese curds. Diners can choose from a selection of salads, sandwiches, and burgers, as well as pot pie, pot roast, ribs, chicken parmesan, and other entrees.

Family-style meals such as grilled lemon chicken, BBQ bison meatloaf, and fettuccini alfredo are available for up to five people. You might also choose to get TV dinners made in-house and frozen in retro-style trays to heat up at home.

Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, beer, and wine from the full bar menu. Some choices include sangria, margaritas, Rum Barrel Punch, and Coconut Mojito.
