Nishiki Ramen, a growing chain hailing from California, is staking its claim in Plano by March according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Owned by Mike Furuichi, Nishiki Ramen currently has three locations in California. The fourth coming to 109 Legacy Drive in Plano is expected to offer the same claims to fame as the existing shops: homemade noodles, delicious broths, slow eggs and chashu meats.
According to the website, Furuichi was born in Tokyo, Japan and it was there he developed a love for Japanese comfort food, including ramen.
Nishiki differentiates itself from competitors by using blended Tonkutsu — or pork bone broth. It is high-pressure cooked. By decreasing the cook time, the shop is able to increase the variety of broth flavors offered each day.
Nishiki Ramen’s goal is to “improve the quality of ramen while keeping the traditional Japanese style.” Watch for updates on the creamy, flavorful fare at www.nishikiramen.com.
