Chipotle is opening a brand new location at State Hwy 121 and Cost Road in Plano, a representative of the chain confirmed with What Now Dallas. Though they were unable to share a specific open date at this point, the build’s filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation estimates a completion of the new construction at the first of December 2024.
Chipotle’s menu centers around customizable Mexican-inspired dishes, offering a range of burritos, bowls, tacos, and salads. Customers can personalize their meals with a variety of fillings, including grilled chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas, sofritas (a tofu-based option), and fresh vegetables. The menu features an array of toppings such as rice, beans, salsas, guacamole, cheese, and lettuce, allowing for diverse flavor combinations.
Chipotle emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients, sourcing responsibly raised meats and organic produce whenever possible. Additionally, the restaurant provides options for different dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices.
Chipotle was founded by Steve Ells in 1993 in Denver, Colorado. Ells, a classically trained chef, opened the first Chipotle Mexican Grill with the idea of serving high-quality, fast-casual Mexican food. Chipotle’s innovative approach to combining fast food convenience with fine-dining quality ingredients quickly gained popularity, paving the way for its expansion into a major national and international chain.
