While the locations of the aforementioned Wendy’s stores have not been disclosed on the company’s website locations tab, a Craigslist job ad posted just six days ago seeking a range of managerial candidates explained, “We are growing! New Wendy’s locations opening in the Denver area soon!” What’s more, Denver job listings on the site say the positions are for stores located within the “80237” zip code. Currently, the burger joint has 14 existing Denver locations and 129 throughout the state.
Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy’s over 50 years ago in Dublin, Ohio with the hopes of serving fresh food, at a fair price, in a comfortable atmosphere. According to Thomas, the reason for his unique square patties was twofold. Firstly, he hoped the shape would make Wendy’s stand out from the slew of other circular burgers in the growing market. Secondly, because Thomas was committed to using only the freshest ingredients, he found that his square burgers featured on round buns better showcased the evidence of his dedication. In other words, the proof was right there in the exposed edges of the patty.
While Wendy’s is known for a handful of other unique, high-quality options like their baked potatoes, fries that supposedly stay hot and crispy for up to 30 minutes, chili, and beloved spicy chicken nuggets, it’s their famed Frosty that may take the cake.
