The Miami-based donut chain, The Salty Donut, will soon make its Nashville debut in the popular 12 South neighborhood, according to recent permits. Located in a yet-to-be-constructed building at 2311 12th Ave. S. #109, the new shop will neighbor the local-favorite Five Daughters Bakery just down the street.
It’s currently unknown when the new bakery will open doors in Nashville, but it’s likely that it won’t be until 2024 at the earliest, considering the construction progress needed for the building to be completed.
The Salty Donut prides itself in offering locally-sourced ingredients, curating good vibes, and leaving an impact on its community, according to the social impact section of its website.
“With artful attention to detail and using nothing but the finest ingredients, we push the boundaries of what a donut can be, while offering a unique coffee menu deliberately refined to connect you to every sip,” states its website.
The brand started in 2014, when Amanda Pizarro and her husband Andy Rodriguez invested in a 1950’s vintage aljoa camper and leased a commissary kitchen to test their creations and serve them to the Miami community. Now, the chain has expanded nationally to open sites in Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina, with Nashville up next.
The store’s menu offers a wide variety of uniquely flavored baked goods, such as the white chocolate chai donut, tiramisu-filled donut, and an ube pina colada flavored donut. Its coffee selection boasts a cinnamon cereal milk-flavored latte, a maple brown sugar cold brew, as well as traditional favorites like americanos and cappuccinos.
What Now Nashville reached out to The Salty Donut officials for comment, but did not immediately receive a response before the time of publication. Customers can learn more about the brand and the upcoming 12 South location of The Salty Donut on its website, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
