Kettle Classic is getting its first brick-and-mortar location.

Tyler Campbell, the owner of the old-fashioned kettle corn business based out of Shelbyville, is planning to open a gourmet popcorn shop at 5525 Franklin Road, Suite C in Murfreesboro near Mr. Brews Taphouse and Teriyaki Madness.

Campbell told What Now Nashville that he plans to serve about 40 flavors of popcorn as well as old-fashioned candy and sodas. He is aiming to open by the end of the year.

He launched Kettle Classic about eight years ago as a way to supplement his farming income. He operates as a pop-up vendor at various events and festivals throughout Middle Tennessee, serving kettle corn to event attendees.

“The idea for Kettle Classic came to me while attending a farmer’s market,” the Kettle Corn Classic website states. “I was at my produce stand and smelled the sweetest aroma in the air. It was kettle corn! There was a vendor there who gave me a sample and I was hooked. Being the food lover that I am, I was convinced that I wanted to perfect this delicious treat and share it with others. Since then I have been dedicated to making the best kettle corn around.”

The brick-and-mortar will feature the same business name, alongside the crow logo found on the Kettle Classic website.

“I figured if I can get people to eat my popcorn like the crows eat my corn then we’ll be all right,” Campbell said.
