The bunsen burners are working around the clock out in Orange, California where Edward Miles and his team of coffee scientists are creating new ways to bring consumers into the coffee roasting experience.
The LaBrewtory strives to invent a “brand new coffee shop experience” and “redefine the standard for a cup of coffee.” While experimenting with his own coffee roasts, owner Miles was struck by an idea: What if the consumer could have total control of how their coffee is made?
The lab experiment involves just six steps: 1. Create your beans: Pick three regions where your coffee beans come from and the lab team will begin to craft your own custom coffee blend. 2. Now its time to turn up the heat! Choose from light roast to dark roast, so the team can start roastin’ those beans. 3. Choose between a coarse, medium or fine grind. 4. Brew to release that intoxicating scent of fresh coffee. 5. Get creative! Compliment your custom coffee blend with the perfect mixture of creamer, milk, sugar or flavor pumps that will make the notes in your coffee blend really sing.
And 6. Become a pothead. Or rather, join this team of coffee enthusiasts on their wild experiment.
The LaBrewtory is currently seeking donations to kickstart their inventive coffee shop and move into a storefront location. The team sends donors rewards ranging from a Labrewtory limited edition shirt to a LaBrewtory lab coat.
