A brand new unnamed restaurant hopes to make its debut in Wilshire Center-Koreatown, located at 3055 Wilshire Blvd #120.
Owner Geong (Gia) Mi Jeon tells What Now Los Angeles she is currently waiting for approval of a conditional use permit from the Los Angeles Planning Department. Once that is received, she expects to open the new unnamed restaurant in five or six months, likely Fall 2022. She says customers can expect Asian fusion with hints of American and Korean in a 1,703 restaurant with 41 indoor seats and eight outdoor patio seats. The proposed restaurant will have daily hours from 9 am to 2 am.
If the City of Los Angeles approves of Jeon’s requests for a CUP, The new restaurant will move into the former home of Cafe Gioia, a couple of blocks away from Lafayette Park. This could be a massive opportunity for Jeon, as this restaurant/ cafe will become the only eatery in the building, which is home for Wilshire Law Firm, Los Angeles Eye Medical Group, and APAIT fitness. The business’s only potential competition comes from other nearby Asian eateries near Wilshire Center-Koreatown.
Unfortunately, since the proposed restaurant is still waiting for approval, not much other information is available about what kind of food will be served. An approved CUP will allow the restaurant to serve alcoholic drinks. Jeon says she will update What Now Los Angeles once she has more information.
