Target is looking to continue its rapid expansion throughout Los Angeles with a new proposed store coming to North Hollywood, located at 12121 W. Victory Blvd.
If approved, the new 80,411 square-foot Target would replace Sears in the Valley Plaza Mall, next to a Burlington Coat Factory and Ross. This would become the second Target in NoHo, with another location down the street, also off Victory Boulevard. There are several Targets throughout Los Angeles County, with the company recently announcing a new store coming to Silver Lake. If and when this new Target opens, it will become the 20th location in Los Angeles, the second-most in any city.
Although the company is still in the permitting stages of this new store, customers know exactly what they will be getting when this store opens. There will be something for everyone, from household supplies and clothing to electronics and groceries. Documents submitted to the Los Angeles City Planning Department suggest alcohol will be sold at this location for off-site consumption. The new store will also have proposed hours of 7 am to 11 pm daily.
Target recently became a topic of discussion for environmentalists, as the company recently committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Its first net-zero energy store opened in Vista, intending to generate renewable energy while reducing the store’s consumption. The Vista store added LED lights, 1,800 solar panels, and 1,620 rooftop panels, switching to CO2 refrigeration and relying on electric-powered HVAC.
