ROCA Pizza, the pizza company from the founder of California Pizza Kitchen, is opening a new location in The Waterside in Marina Del Rey at 4700 Admiralty Way.

Previously, What Now Los Angeles reported that the company is opening a new location in Pacific Palisades, at 1061 N Swarthmore Avenue, expected to open at the beginning of 2022. ROCA Pizza recently announced that this location will open sometime in Fall 2022, likely in late November. Additionally, the new Marina Del Rey location is now expected to open in early 2023. This location was initially scheduled to open in Fall 2021, then in mid-2022.

Rick Rosenfield and his wife Esther appear to be ready to move forward with plans. In both locations, display cabinets will exhibit full pan pizzas that customers can select by the slice by the cut, with half- and full-pan options as well, encouraging guests to enjoy a sampling of several different specialty pizzas. All ROCAs will also feature a grab-and-go section with pre-packaged salads as well as sandwiches made from their pizza dough.

“Both locations are focal points to their respective communities with a vibrant mix of retailers and impressive culinary offerings that ROCA is excited to be a part of,” Rick Rosenfield said in a press release. “We are eager to introduce ROCA to LA’s Westside.”

When these new locations open, customers can expect delicious pizza made with premium products and ingredients sourced locally and internationally. What sets ROCA apart is its artisan dough, which is long, cold fermented for 48 hours or more. This technique was perfected down to a science after more than 70 years of research and development in Rome and discovered by the Rosenfield’s a decade ago.

ROCA Pizza currently has one location at the Americana at Brand, located at 769 Americana Way. The restaurant offers traditionally topped pizzas and vegan options. Some menu highlights include supplì, soppressata and burrata pizza, pepperoni hot honey, Italian sausage & potato, amatriciana pizza, kale & almond salad, and caesar salad with Calabrian chili dressing.
