A brand new seasonal restaurant called Alder & Sage is looking to make its debut in Long Beach, located at 366 Cherry Ave.
The new California-inspired bistro will move into the former home of Carousel Preschool, which has served the community for 40 years. Owner Kerstin Kansteiner tells What Now Los Angeles she hopes to open the business in November 2022, but it’s hard to know with everything going on. Kansteiner, who also owns Berlin Bistro and Portfolio Coffeehouse, says she plans to incorporate aspects of these businesses to create a coffee bistro during the day and offer higher-end dining at night.
Alder & Sage will be open for breakfast and lunch, featuring California bistro cuisine utilizing the finest seasonal ingredients. The eatery will then close for an hour, allowing the kitchen to transition to dinner service. It’s hard to say exactly what the restaurant will serve, as ownership is currently in the process of creating a menu. A recent liquor license application suggests the eatery will have alcoholic drinks, possibly for brunch and definitely for dinner.
The new restaurant will sit in the center of the 4th Street Corridor, otherwise known as Retro Row, a vibrant and creative neighborhood in Long Beach. The new two-part restaurant will be a perfect addition to the area, adding even more variety to the already health-forward dining scene. Other nearby eateries include Salud Juice Bar, VBuger, and Honduras’ Kitchen. Alder & Sage is currently hiring for all positions.
Do you by chance know where I can get the email address of the business?
