Baroo — “a modern, fermentation-focused” Korean concept that closed its strip mall location in 2018, just three years after opening — is re-debuting in June

Helmed by husband and wife Kwang Uh and Mina Park, the new Baroo will present “an elegant tasting menu in the Arts District inside the former Bao Hiroo space” at 905 E 2nd St #109, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

This time around, Kwang — who trained at Noma, Piazza Duomo in Italy, and Quique Dacosta in Spain — “will develop Baroo into a prix fixe menu restaurant, pairing food with Korean alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages,” according to Eater LA

In an effort to reject stagnancy and keep things creative, Kwang is committed to changing the menu, leaving behind many of the “beloved dishes from Baroo’s previous rendition.”

“To reflect the pair’s Buddhist background, they’ll serve a vegan menu inspired by their time with Jeong Kwan,” explains Eater, “incorporating other spiritual and traditional Korean elements, such as the concept of five elements.”
