Nando Milano — an authentic, family-owned trattoria with locations in Champaign, Illinois, and Manhattan Beach, California — is opening a third outpost at 9749 S Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

The space currently serves as home to Da Pasquale, another family-run Italian concept by Pasquale Morra. It’s presently unclear why the take-over is taking place or when Nando Milano’s second LA outpost will open.

The first Nando Milano Trattoria was opened 12 years ago in Chicago’s Wicker Park by Dario Vullo and his brother Chef Alessio Vullo. However, the restaurant’s reality was decades in the making as the brothers’ grandfather helmed the first family baker in Siciliy in 1954.

“From Sicily through Northern and Central Italy, the Vullo family manifested their start in the food and restaurant business first with generations of the family bringing love and passion to their local cuisine,” explains the eatery’s website.

Today, Dario, his wife Amy Yetasook, and Chef Alessio operate the trattorias — the middle ground in casualness between a ristorante and an osteria — and are intent on sharing their unique and authentic dining experience no matter the location.

The Nando Milano Trattoria menu includes house-made specialty pastas, breads, and desserts, as well as an extensive wine list updated regularly with vino from every Italian region. What separates Vullo’s approach, however, is his commitment to craftsmanship and a warm, endearing passion for both his culture and cuisine.
