Thanks to Toddrickallen.com, What Now Los Angeles has learned that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will open a new outpost at 2021 Santa Monica Boulevard on the corner of 20th Street. The incoming store will take over “the old deli space in the [address’] medical building.”
The debut comes fresh on the heels of several local closures for CBTL, signifying a potentially positive turnaround for the international chain.
Regarding the Santa Monica opening, a marketing rep for CBTL says a hard date has not yet been finalized.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has over 1,000 stores worldwide and continues to franchise eagerly. It’s company-owned locations are located in California, Arizona, Singapore, and Malaysia. Interestingly, the brand was established in 1963 in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, a branch that continues to operate to this day.
CBTL is known for its down-to-earth, handcrafted products including coffee comprised of the top 1% of Arabica beans and teas concocted by the Tea Ambassador of Sri Lanka, David DeCandia. Notable menu items include the Cardamom Cold Brew, the Orchard Peach Ice Tea, and the Egg-Spinach-Cheddar Ciabatta.
