According to a pending ABC application filed by LA Taqueria & Brunch Bar co-owner Arturo Concha (The Conch, LLC), the restauranteur may take over the expanse at 11033 Downey Avenue in Downey.

The space, which currently houses Marc Shelton’s Lock & Key Social Drinkery + Kitchen, sits between the closed Peking China and still-operating Downey Hair Studio on the busy, biz-heavy block.

Neither Concha nor his business partner Erika De La Teja responded to WNLA‘s request for comment.

The duo co-owns Downey’s LA Taqueria & Brunch Bar and, back in April, explained that they’d be opening another iteration of the eatery at the former Poquito Mas in Buena Park come summer.

That project doesn’t appear to have come to fruition yet. Additionally, the team removed Montebello, South Gate, and Glendora from their Instagram bio as incoming outposts.

Given Lock & Key’s sports bar layout, Concha and De La Teja’s acquisition of the space could mean a pivot in plans for their taqueria concept…or a new brand altogether as the team has several projects up their sleeves.

Stay tuned for updates.
