Parma’s Pizzeria, the pizza joint helmed by Pat Benatar’s longtime bassist Mick Mahan, appears to be opening a third location in the SAG AFTRA Plaza.
According to public records, the Planning Commission approved tenant improvements to a 3,000 square-foot restaurant (that includes a 212 square-foot bar) and a 600 square-foot patio partially covered by a new wood trellis, with Parma’s Pizzeria listed as the project name.
Parma’s opened in 2016 in Thousand Oaks and debuted its second location in Agoura Hills in 2022. After spending over 30 years traveling the world as a successful musician, Mahan decided to pursue his second passion as a pizzaiolo. The pizzeria – which he runs with his sons Mike and Gianni – allows Mahan to get back to his roots, having been raised in the Sicilian tradition in Youngstown, Ohio.
Parma’s serves up a variety of traditional and artisanal pies, including Detroit-style, New York-style, Neapolitan and Sicilian.
“Every pizza is handcrafted using only the finest domestic and imported ingredients available. Our dough is handmade daily and utilizes a long fermentation process, resulting in a highly digestible pizza that is light and airy,” says their website.
The proposed hours of operation for the new restaurant are Monday to Sunday from 11am to 2am. An opening date has not been announced.
