According to a recent liquor license application, it looks like General Lee’s is opening up a new outpost in Highland Park. The concept is called General Lee’s Bamboo Room.

“General Lee’s Cocktail Bar has served LA Chinatown since 1890,” says the lounge’s Facebook. The original location at 475 Gin Ling Way is hidden away in a corner of Old Chinatown and used to host celebrities like Frank Sinatra back in the day.

On the first floor of the flagship location is a lively dancefloor with a DJ booth, while upstairs patrons can hang out in the more lowkey, dimly lit lounge. The bar features a variety of unique cocktails with Asian-inspired flavors, like The Immortal Elixir made with gin, rhubarb, pineapple, lemon, Prosecco and rosemary.

It’s unclear whether the new location will take after the original spot or try something new.

An opening date for General Lee’s Bamboo Room has not yet been announced.
