What Now reported last May on plans by longtime South Florida Cuban restaurant and juicery favorite El Palacio de Los Jugos to open a new location in the Miami Lakes area. That location is now preparing to launch soon.

“We’re finishing with the construction right now, so we’re trying to open in the last days of April or first days of May,” a representative told What Now on Tuesday.

The representative adds that that’s not all El Palacio has in store for us in 2025. There is also a two-location project in the works on South Dixie Highway. The project includes a restaurant location at 18601 S Dixie Highway, plus a cafeteria and mini-market just across the street, at 18545 S Dixie Highway.

Founded in 1977 by Apolonia Bermudez (and now helmed by her son Reinaldo), El Palacio de Los Jugos continues to be a tried-and-true spot for chicharrones, batidos, and fruit juices—plus sandwiches, croquetas, pizza, and more. These two new locations are expected to open in November or December—“or maybe sooner,” the representative said.
