According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, the Italian American restaurant Original Joe’s plans to open a new outpost in Walnut Creek.

Coming to 1300 S Main Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as Gott’s Roadside, Pacific Catch, and The Cooperage American Grill.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s co-owner, John Duggan, to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the concept offers a brief introduction on its website: “Original Joe’s history runs deep, beginning in 1937 as a 14-stool counter on a sawdust-covered floor at 144 Taylor Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin.”

“Serving classic Italian-American fare, the restaurant prepares dishes in an open kitchen for all to see, providing hearty portions at reasonable prices… Known as much for its comfortable familiarity as for its abundant portions, the menu offers hamburgers, steaks, seafood, and pastas.”

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
