After opening a second location in SouthPark, Suffolk Punch Brewing is already planning a new location in Huntersville at 16912 Birkdale Commons Pkwy.
The company’s third location will be in a 1,600-square-foot two-story standalone building within the Birkdale Village near Lake Norman, first reported by the Charlotte Business Journal. The brewery will sit across from the vacant space formerly the home of Brixx. Customers can expect a full-service bar downstairs with an all-season patio and a rooftop with a partially covered bar and seating overlooking The Plaza. The owners expanded the brewery to SouthPark this month and expect to open in Lake Norman early next year.
Suffolk Punch Brewing is owned by Glen Cherry, Collin Ricks, Seth Stidham, Dan Davis, Ryland Pond, Jason Mathis, and Dan Hyde. The group has enlisted executive chef Michael Rayfield to create a new chef-driven menu for this new location, including a rotating seasonal menu with high-quality local ingredients. Like the brewery’s other locations, Lake Normal will feature Suffolk Punch’s craft beer as well as seltzer, ciders, hard kombuchas, cocktails, and natural wines. Brad Maas will continue to serve as the company’s head brewer.
“The energy, amazing outdoor experiences, and community focus that Birkdale provides overlaps with what we provide guests at Suffolk Punch,” Stidham, who also serves as the chief operating officer of Suffolk Punch Brewing, tells the Charlotte Observer. “We’re absolutely stoked to join the stellar lineup at Birkdale and to serve all of our friends in the Lake Norman area.”
