Fast-casual Greek eatery Greco Fresh Grille later this year will open in NoDa, according to the restaurant’s website.

Greco Fresh Grille is slated to debut in fall 2023 as part of the Inkwell multifamily development, at 720 E. 36th St., according to further reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal.

Greco Fresh Grill CEO Vasili “Bill” Pahountis told the Business Journal building out the 1,500 square-foot space is expected to cost $300,000.

Pahountis founded Greco Fresh Grille in 2011 after moving to Charlotte and “seeing an opportunity to bring Greek food to the area,” the restaurant’s website notes. “All the recipes are his own, passed down from his mother, who emigrated from Greece to the U.S. after WWII.”

Everything on the menu — think gyros “of course!,” greek salads, and fries — is made in-house with ingredients like Greek olive oil, Greek yogurt, ripe vegetables, and fresh meats.

“At Greco Fresh Grille, our family has one goal — to serve our community with the best Greek and Mediterranean food with a friendly smile,” the website states.

Greco Fresh Grille has six existing locations including the recently-opened outpost in Southpark, according to its website. There are also plans for a space in Cornelius which is expected to open in winter 2023 at a yet-to-be-disclosed location.

But the next two locations are only the beginning for the budding Greek eatery. Pahountis plans to expand even further by way of franchising.
