True Food Kitchen, a national chain with a chef-crafted menu, has signed a lease for a new South End location at 2161 Hawkins St.

The company’s new 6,000 square feet location will sit on the ground level at Linea, a 24-story tower with 370 luxury residential units, according to Charlotte Business Journal. The new mixed-use development features 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. True Food Kitchen is expected to open in late Spring 2025, joining other upcoming tenants, such as Night Swim Coffee and Bar One South End, both of which are opening in late 2024.

True Foods Kitchen was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil in 2008 and has grown to 44 locations in 17 states. The company takes pride in offering food and drinks that are both healthy and tastes good. One of the biggest appeals to True Foods’ menu is the focus on an anti-inflammatory diet. Some of the company’s top sellers include the Ancient Grains Bowl and Tuscan Kale Salad. Since opening in 2008, the menu has evolved to include more approachable and recognizable dishes such as burgers, pizzas, desserts, and cocktails.

“We’ve really done a lot of work on the menu to innovate,” Marketing Director Christine Ferris tells Charlotte Business Journal. “We’re learning a lot about different demographics across the country and what they like to eat and how they like to eat. We have learned that people want to still eat their comfort food. And in doing that, obviously, they want to do it and still feel really good when they’re done eating.”
