A brand new restaurant concept called Chapter 6 is getting ready to make its debut in The Line in South End at 2151 Hawkins St, Suite 120.

The new 6,600-square-foot restaurant is the latest from Jon and Kim Dressler’s Rare Roots Hospitality group, according to Charlotte Observer. The group recently sold its lease and assets for Dogwood Southern Table & Bar, which is set to close in mid-to-late August 2023, to focus on this restaurant. Opening in Fall 2023, Chapter 6 will focus on Western Mediterranean flavors with seating for 240 guests, including space for a bar, lounge, and 60-70 person patio.

This will be Rare Roots Hospitality’s sixth restaurant, following the likes of The Porter House, Fin & Fino, and more. Adding to the already impressive portfolio, Chapter 6 will showcase the tastes and traditions of the coasts and fields of Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, France, and Italy.

Customers can expect weeknight dinners and an all-day menu on the weekends. Rare Roots chefs Scott Hollingsworth and Jonathan Cox created the menu after traveling to Spain and Morocco, while the group’s Brittany Kellum, who serves as Fin & Fino’s bar manager, will create a Western Mediterranean-focused cocktail program.

“At Chapter Six, we defy borders and seek inspiration in the overlap, the liminal spaces where cultures converge to create something distinct,” according to the company’s website. “The menu is Spanish with a Moroccan flair, French with an Italian accent. It’s what happens when waves lap onto these shores and blend traditions of land and sea into a style of coastal cuisine found nowhere else. Here, one table – filled with small plates, shared plates, and cocktails – can span a sea and connect countries.”
