After months of anticipation following the initial announcement, associates of Slutty Vegan have revealed new details regarding the company’s first location in Charlotte.

Previously, owner Pinky Cole had announced her intentions to expand her popular vegan restaurant to Charlotte, but few details followed. Her husband, Derrick Hayes, owner and CEO of Big Dave’s Cheesesteak, has revealed new information following the announcement of his restaurant coming to the area, according to Charlotte Observer. Hayes recently announced he is bringing his cheesesteaks to Charlotte for the company’s first expansion beyond Atlanta.

“Who knows? If a spot goes vacant next door to me, she might be next door,” Hayes tells Charlotte Observer. “So, we don’t have a date, but what I will tell you is — she [is] coming. She will be there.”

Previously, What Now Charlotte reported that Big Dave’s Cheesesteak would be coming to the Town Center Plaza Shopping Mall in December at 8548 University City Blvd. That means it’s very possible Slutty Vegan will be taking residence here as well as soon as a vacant spot opens. When the restaurant opens, customers can expect delicious 100% plant-based burgers and other vegan-friendly options.

Pinky Cole launched Slutty Vegan in 2018 from Atlanta as a ghost kitchen but eventually upgraded to a brick-and-mortar in Westview in early 2019. So far, the company has five locations in the Metro Atlanta area and a plant-based bar called Bar Vegan. The company has since expanded to Ohio, Alabama, New York, and more. This year the company planned to open a new location once every month in 2023 in a different city.
