Popular Charlotte chicken restaurant Bossy Beulah’s Chicken Shack is preparing to open a new location at The Bowl at Ballantyne in South Charlotte.

The company’s sixth site is the newest tenant announced for the upcoming mixed-use retail, dining, and entertainment area in Ballantyne, along with Raleigh-based Arrow–Cuts & Shaves and national gym [solidcore], according to Charlotte Observer. These businesses will open next year as part of the Ballantyne Reimagined project, including The Bowl at Ballantyne, a 20-acre project featuring over 90,000 square feet of retail.

“South Charlotte has been on our radar for expansion for some time now, but we hadn’t found the right location until The Bowl came around,” Bossy Beulah owner Jim Noble said in a statement.

The new Bossy Belulah’s will be a 2,775-square-foot space with a 1,300-square-foot patio. The company will join several other businesses already announced coming to the Ballantyne campus, including several Charlotte-based companies, such as Summit Coffee, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, HEX Coffee Roasters, and Harriet’s Hamburgers. Atlanta-based Honeysuckle Gelato, Fly Kid Fly, and California hair salon chain Drybar are also coming to the development.

Property developer Northwood Investors LLC says that The Bowl is about 60% leased in a news release. Summit Coffee is expected to open its new location sometime this month. Florida-based First Watch and Pittsburgh-based steak and seafood chain Walnut Grill recently opened at The Bowl at Ballantyne. According to the Observer, Northwood owns and manages 535 acres, 4.4 million square feet of office space, four hotels with nearly 600 rooms, a 212-unit apartment building, and 2.5 million square feet of LEED-certified space at Ballantyne.
