Taco Boy, a popular taco spot throughout the Carolinas, is getting ready to add two more locations to its portfolio, including a new site coming to LoSo at 3700 South Boulevard, Unit 100.
The company announced last month that Taco Boy is opening its third North Carolina site sometime next year, likely in the first half of the year. The announcement also mentions the company is expanding into Greenville for Taco Boy’s fourth South Carolina location, opening in 2024 at 1813 Laurens Rd. When the new LoSo site opens, it will be the closest Taco Boy to Charlotte, with two locations in Ashville and sites in Charleston, Folly Beach, and Summerville.
The fast-growing taco shop, founded by Karalee Nielsen Fallert, is much more than a delicious Mexican eatery. On top of a handful of various tacos, quesadillas, and other classic Mexican dishes, the company also supports the Green Heart Project in Charleston, which was co-established in 2009 by Fallert, who uses garden-based experiential learning to educate students and cultivate community through food. So far, Taco Boy has donated over a quarter of a million dollars to the Non-profit organization.
“We believe in the power of tacos to nurture people, incite fun, inspire positive change, and build community,” according to the company’s website. “With hot tacos, cold margs, and a bevy of other scratch-made Mexican-inspired flavors, we strive to bring people together over food and good times. For us, hospitality is a circle of openhearted kindness, respect, and mutual care. That’s why whether we’re connecting with guests, purveyors, community partners, or each other, we strive to stay curious, listen deeply, work together, and do all things with intention and generosity.”
