San Francisco-based KHP Capital Partners is bringing The Beckworth Hotel to Uptown Charlotte. Plans for the space were approved this week by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmark Commission.

The hotel at 212 S. Tryon St. is slated to be 17 stories and 172,300 square feet, with 245 rooms, a rooftop bar, a ground-floor restaurant and coffee shop, a 10,000-square-foot meeting room and a 3,500-square-foot ballroom, according to reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal.

KHP initially acquired the property in May for $19.3 million, according to the Business Journal. It is unclear precisely when construction will start.

However, KHP is planning to begin the transformation of the space, with plans to finish the hotel in summer of 2026.
