Summit Farms is moving forward with its long-anticipated 58-acre development project in Davidson, with permits pending.

The development will eventually include a farm, commercial space and housing. The team is hoping to begin construction on the first 13,000-square-foot building, which will include Summit Coffee, the anchor tenant for the development, in May, according to reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal. Depending on construction, the development could open in early 2026.

The spot will serve Summit Coffee beverages and pastries, and it will house the brand’s headquarters.

Launched in 1998, Summit Coffee has locations in Lake Norman, Charlotte, Asheville, Atlanta and Charleston. It centers its brand around “creating moments of joy” through its cafes and coffee.
