PickleRage, a new indoor pickleball club that launched last year, is getting ready to make its area debut in South Jacksonville, located at 10320 Shops Lane, No. 200.

The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of HHGregg, the electronics and appliances retailer that closed all locations in 2017, in Fall 2024 at the Avenues Walk shopping center, according to the company’s website. The new PickleRage will sit between Chuck E. Cheese and Dollar Tree, featuring nine pickleball courts, a party room, offices, changing rooms, and a lounge. Some locations offer beer, wine, and snacks. The pickleball courts will be temperature-controlled with a softened playing surface.

“PickleRage Indoor Pickleball Courts is the premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts of all skill levels,” according to the company’s website. “Created for players by players, our state-of-the-art facility offers top-quality indoor courts that provide the perfect environment for both casual games and competitive tournaments. The courts are designed with high-grade materials to ensure optimal playability and safety. Beyond just the game, PickleRage fosters a vibrant community where players can connect, learn, and improve their skills through various clinics and workshops led by experienced coaches. With amenities like comfortable seating areas, a pro shop, and refreshment zones, PickleRage Indoor Pickleball Courts is more than just a place to play—it’s a hub for the pickleball community to thrive and grow.”

It’s been a big year for PickleRage, starting with the announcement that the company is now offering franchise opportunities. Despite this, a representative from the company tells What Now Jacksonville that the new South Jacksonville location will be corporate-owned. Then, at the beginning of the month, PickleRage announced the next phase of its national expansion by entering into a multi-year, multi-faceted agreement with the Johnson family, renowned figures in the world of pickleball. The partnership is a significant milestone for PickleRage as it moves forward with its goal of opening over 500 locations nationwide within the next five years.

“We’re delighted to join forces with JW, Julie, and Jack Johnson as we advance our mission to foster community connection through the widespread enjoyment of pickleball,” Mike Law, SVP of Marketing at PickleRage, said in a press release. “Beyond their impressive on-court achievements, the Johnson family’s deep expertise and passion for the sport make them invaluable partners as we strive to deliver state-of-the-art facilities and unparalleled experiences for players of all levels to enjoy the sport year-round.”
