Playa Bowls, a fast-casual franchise renowned for its smoothie, açaí, coconut, and pitaya bowls, is embarking on an exciting expansion phase. The company recently announced plans to accelerate its growth, unveiling eight multi-unit development commitments, with a notable 10-unit deal specifically slated for Boston. Spearheading this expansion is franchisee Dana Nentin, a seasoned operator with eleven stores already under her belt in the Boston metro area.

Founded in 2014 by Jersey Shore natives Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor, Playa Bowls has evolved from humble beginnings—a couple of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge—into a nationwide phenomenon boasting over 200 stores and a team of thousands. Rooted in a mission to promote healthy and sustainable living, the brand has become synonymous with vibrant, nourishing fare.

At Playa Bowls, there’s something for every palate, from the indulgent Nutella and Coco Craze bowls to the refreshing Pink Pitaya and Orange Power smoothies. Beyond its signature offerings, the chain also serves a variety of juices, cold-pressed options, and cold brew beverages, as well as seasonal delights like February’s Bae Bowl and White Chocolate Raspberry Sweet Cream Cold Brew.

While the exact locations and opening dates of the forthcoming establishments remain under wraps, smoothie bowl enthusiasts are encouraged to stay tuned for updates as Playa Bowls continues to spread its message of health and wellness to new communities throughout Boston.
