It looks like some changes are coming to a Japanese restaurant in Cambridge’s Porter Square.

According to a post within the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, Izakaya Ittoku will close on September 2, 2024, with plans to reopen “sometime in October.”

The 1815 Massachusetts Ave restaurant is relocating to another space within the same building, although the new address has not yet been disclosed.

Known for its wide variety of Japanese fare, including hibachi dishes, skewers, nigiri, and sashimi, Izakaya Ittoku has become a local favorite since its 2013 inception.

The eatery first opened its doors in Allston-Brighton before relocating to Cambridge in 2019. The reason for this latest move remains unclear.

Owner Kentaro Suzuki did not immediately respond to inquiries from What Now Boston, so keep an eye out for updates as more information becomes available.
