Short Path Distillery in Everett recently announced plans to launch The Cafe at Short Path Distillery, a new addition to its space at 71 Kelvin St in the Fermentation District.
“For the past ten years, we’ve poured our hearts into crafting not just spirits but also a community around Short Path (it’s quite literally in our name!),” the distillery shared in a social media update. “This cafe will bring a sense of connection into the morning hours and offer something our neighborhood has been missing…”
Founded by Zachary Robinson, Jackson Hewlett, and Matt Kurtzman in the summer of 2015, Short Path Distillery began with just two signature spirits. Since then, the company has crafted over 50 products, reflecting its “unique approach to spirit development and commitment to quality and community.”
To bring their vision to life, the Short Path team has launched a NuMarket campaign to raise funds for the cafe. Contributions will go toward the buildout, equipment, upgraded furniture, new technology like music and Wi-Fi, and other essentials.
Donors will receive 120% of their contributions back as credits, redeemable without expiration for coffee at the cafe, craft cocktails at the bar, or bottles to take home.
“There’s a serious lack of coffee and communal workspaces in our neighborhood and we want to fix that,” the founders explained in their NuMarket pitch. “By making investments in our space with your help, The Cafe will offer not only quality coffee and espresso drinks, but also a cozy workspace for those seeking somewhere to escape.”
The cafe menu will feature espresso drinks, drip coffee, cold brew, specialty beverages, and an assortment of baked goods. All coffee will be locally sourced, with Short Path recently hosting a blind coffee-tasting event to let the community help select the roaster.
With just six days left in the campaign, The Cafe at Short Path Distillery has raised nearly $35,000 of its $75,000 goal. To support the project and make a contribution, click here.
