Construction is continuing to move forward on the historic, and some say haunted, home of Sesh, a new gastropub located at 2221 4th St N in St. Petersburg, which is owned and operated by Matt Powers and his Mad Beach Craft Brewing crew. According to Powers, however, an opening date is still yet to be determined.

“With any project like this, it can be a lot longer than you would hope it would be,” Powers tells What Now Tampa. “We don’t have an exact date yet, there are still a few more things we’re ironing out, so I’m hesitant to put a date on it – ‘cause we only want to do this once when it is time for the date.”

Nevertheless, Sesh is already cultivating a devoted following on social media while teasing new menu items such as a sandwich stacked with marinated try-tip sirloin medallions, lettuce tomato, onion, and fried pickle, then drizzled with pepper jack cheese, all on a La Segunda Central Cuban roll. Likewise, they’ve teased the appearance of Mad Beach’s infamous Jelly Donut burger.

“We’re excited to get open and become a part of the St. Pete community,” says Powers. “We’ve had a lot of response on social media from what we’re doing there, we’re excited to show everybody what we’ve got coming, and we should – pretty soon – have some more insight on when they can see it, and start showing some of it through our social media.”
