In business since 1951, Kelly’s Roast Beef serves up “The Original Roast Beef Sandwich” at 8 locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, plus another four in the state of Florida. The brand currently has several more locations in the works for the Sunshine State, one of which will open in New Port Richey, where submitted plan review documents show a launch at 8154 Little Road.

“Before 1951, no one thought to eat thinly sliced, melt in your mouth roast beef in sandwich form. We did,” says the Kelly’s Roast Beef website. “Yep, we’re known as the inventor of the roast beef sandwich topped with American Cheese, mayonnaise, and James River BBQ Sauce, affectionately known as the three-way. Just ask anyone from Boston’s North Shore, where we’ve been a staple for over 70 years.”

The Kelly’s menu features sandwiches like the Large Roast Beef Sandwich, the Lobster Salad Roll, and the Surf and Turf (which combines the two.) There are also seafood choices like the Clam Plate, the Scallop Plate, and the Fish Plate, served with fries, onion rings, and a side of Kelly’s homemade tartar sauce.

Opening in the Little Road location, just south of the King Helie Blvd intersection, Kelly’s will provide a bit more niche flavor to an area dominated by franchise behemoths like Arby’s, Jersey Mike’s Subs, KFC, and Wendy’s.
