What Now reported a little over a year ago on a deal signed by growing slider franchise Smalls Sliders with Purple Square Management to open nine Smalls Sliders locations in the Tampa Bay market.

“The caliber of the Smalls Sliders brand has continuously increased since we first invested in the brand last year,” Vik Patel, CEO of Purple Square Management, said at the time. “We share their team’s vision for the promising trajectory of the brand, and we wanted to continue to be a large part of its growth across markets.”

Wheels now appear to be motion for the launch of several Smalls Sliders locations, or cans—that is to say, prefab recycled shipping containers dropped on site and ready to go.

One can appears to be in the works in St. Pete, where plan review paperwork submitted by Purple Buns FL St Petersburg LLC shows an opening planned at 8624 Fourth St. N.

What Now reached out to Vik Patel on Thursday to ask about plans for the St. Pete Smalls Sliders can and any others that may be coming down the pipeline. Patel was not immediately available for comment.
