Taco Palenque, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain based in Laredo, is opening its first outpost in Hill Country Village. The eatery is planning to take over a space on San Pedro Avenue, near establishments including Bike World, Discount Tire, and Willie’s Grill & Icehouse.
Franchisee and Taco Palenque Board Member, Jorge Carlos, tells What Now San Antonio that, while the location has been confirmed, the lease won’t be signed until the 12th, and asked that we hold off on sharing the exact address until then.
Nevertheless, according to a recent report by Community Impact, we can share that Taco Palenque plans to utilize the locale’s existing drive-thru and that the building will undergo a remodeling slated to last around eight months.
When asked why Taco Palenque chose Hill Country Village as the site of their upcoming outpost, one of the business’s lawyers, Rob Killen, tells Community Impact, “The Hill Country Village location gives Taco Palenque an ideal, visible site in between the chain’s other north side locales.”
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, Taco Palenque has been around since 1987 and is known for fast-casual Mexican food, or “Fresh Mex,” as they like to call it. Menu options include tacos, quesadillas, plates — think enchiladas, fajitas, and flautas — burritos, parrilladas, antojitos, bowls, salads, soups, and desserts. The eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Ever-expanding, Taco Palenque has opened 33 outposts throughout Texas — and one in Monterrey — and franchising is available for entrepreneurs looking to get involved.
An opening date for Taco Palenque on San Pedro Avenue has not yet been set. Stay tuned to the chain’s Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
