Manasquan-based sandwich franchise Jersey Mike’s is prepping for its Cibolo debut. According to public records, the fast-casual concept is planning to take over a former Shell station at the intersection of Cibolo Drive and Borgfeld Road, near establishments like Chipotle, Panda Express, and Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings.
Operating Partner Steven Tozzi tells What Now San Antonio, “Cibolo is a rapidly growing city that’s underserved with food establishments, so we want to be able to come, offer some good stuff, and become an involved part of the Cibolo community.”
A recent construction permit application describes the project as the “interior tenant finish out” of an existing, 1,325-square-foot space, slated to begin later this month and be completed in mid-June. The job will cost an estimated $250,000 and be carried out by Fort Worth-based design firm JRK Design.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Jersey Mike’s, Kyle Potvin, Principal at Splash Communications, shares an introduction with What Now San Antonio: “Jersey Mike’s Subs, a fast-casual sub sandwich franchise with nearly 2,500 locations nationwide, believes that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same. Jersey Mike’s offers a Sub Above, serving authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs on freshly baked bread – the same recipe it started with in 1956.”
Jersey Mike’s is slated to open in January 2024.
