Thirsty Pups Brewery & Bottle Shop is debuting in Castle Hills — planning to open a brewery and taproom sometime this fall.

Co-owner Erik Ureta, who founded the business alongside Audra Perkins, confirms with What Now San Antonio that the nano-brewery will make a 1,805-square-foot space at 2211 NW Military Highway its home.

For Ureta, the decision to open a brewhouse follows years working in San Antonio beer-making scene — formerly brewing at Alamo Beer Company and at San Antonio’s Second Pitch Beer Co.

On tap, Thirsty Pups plans to offer between six and eight house brews, as well as a selection of popular Texas craft beer labels — which patrons will be able to enjoy at the bar, standalone tables, communal tables, or in the taproom’s small lounge area.

While Thirsty Pups will focus on beverages rather than food, there are a number of existing eateries within a walkable distance that patrons can swing by before or after their visit — such as European Dumplings Cafe, Sonic Drive-In, and Sushishima Japanese Restaurant.

Ureta shares that the brewery is aiming to open sometime between August and October. Stay tuned for additional updates.
