Tipsy Cow Ice Cream, a New Braunfels-based ice cream shop known for its alcohol-infused plus kid-friendly flavors, is planning to open its second location in the city.
Mike Chase confirms with What Now San Antonio that he and his wife and co-owner Ella Chase, have leased a space in South New Braunfels at 1705 S Walnut Avenue — a high-traffic area near establishments such as County Line Veterinary Clinic and J&R Gymnastics, just off of I-35.
Slated to open in early 2024, the parlor — which will be able to accommodate nearly three times as many customers as its existing shop at 2154 Gabriels Place — will undergo renovations and preparations throughout the rest of the year.
For readers unfamiliar with Tipsy Cow, the family-owned and operated business was founded in 2018. The concept is known for its year-round flavor staples including vanilla bourbon & brown sugar, southern pecan pie, and Bailey’s salted caramel, as well as rotating options like hard rootbeer float.
In addition to ice cream, Tipsy Cow also offers milkshakes, floats, smoothies, and a drink called “Raising Bull,” made by mixing Red Bull with sorbet.
“It’s all about the ice cream,” says Chase, sharing that Tipsy Cow doesn’t provide toppings or sauces like some of its competitors — adding, “It’s kind of like a good steak, you don’t need steak sauce if it’s done right.”
