According to a recent construction permit application, major Taco Bell franchisee Tacala is looking to bring a new outpost to Seguin.

Coming to 930 State Hwy 46 N, the fast-casual eatery will land among establishments such as Burger King, Chicken Express, and Gunn Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM auto dealership.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Tacala to inquire about the upcoming location, but representatives could not provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing provides additional insight

The project is described as “a new QSR restaurant with drive-thru service and its associated site work.” Construction of the 2,739-square-foot facility is slated to begin on October 16 and finish on January 19, 2024. For an estimated $600,000, the project will be carried out by the Austin-based firm Hoover & Associates.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Tacala, the Taco Bell franchisee briefly introduces itself on its website, sharing that Tacala’s Founders, Dick Reese, and Don Ghareeb, opened their first Taco Bell in 1989 in Columbiana, Alabama.

Over the last 30 years, Tacala has opened over 340 Taco Bell locations in the Southeast and Texas. The business is also backed by Altamont Capital Partners.

Stay tuned for updates.
