International smoothie company Smoothie King is expanding in San Antonio — planning to open a new location in North Central by next summer.
According to a recently submitted construction permit application, the outpost is coming to 14439 NW Military Highway, Suite 110, near eateries such as HTeaO, McDonald’s, and Subway.
What Now San Antonio contacted franchisee Joanne Hilliard, who confirmed the location of the upcoming smoothie shop but could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.
Described as the tenant remodeling of an existing 983-square-foot space, an estimated $150,000 worth of renovations are scheduled to begin this September and be completed by March 2024.
For readers unfamiliar with the Coppell, Texas-based concept, Smoothie King is an “international, health-focused smoothie company” known for offering “enhanced blends,” with add-ins such as protein or electrolytes.
Since the company was founded by Steve Kuhnaun in 1973, it has expanded to over 1,000 locations across the globe.
