According to a recently submitted permit application, H-E-B at 1520 Austin Highway is planning to update its sushi zone.

Located in San Antonio’s Wilshire neighborhood, the grocery chain outpost neighbors establishments such as Pho Plus Vietnamese, the Sunset Square Shopping Center, and Yippon Ramen.

What Now San Antonio reached out to H-E-B to inquire about the renovations, but company officials were unable to provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.

Described as a “remodel in [the] sushi department,” renovations are slated to begin in May 2024 and to be completed by July. For an estimated $120,000, the Arkansas-based firm PB2 Architecture + Engineering will carry out the project.

A reopening date has not yet been announced, so follow H-E-B on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
