Austin-based Tex-Mex chain Chuy’s will soon be opening a new location in New Braunfels at 2557 I-35 N.

Public records show that the 6,630-square-foot restaurant is being built from the ground up by the Lewisville, Texas-based firm Parkway C&A, LP for an estimated $2,100,000.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, “Chuy’s is an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant that was founded in Austin, TX in 1982 and is known for its menu of made-from-scratch dishes, fresh-squeezed lime juice margaritas, large portions, and a fun, eclectic atmosphere,” according to the eatery’s website.

“Founders Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. From these humble beginnings, Chuy’s was born,” the statement continues.

Chuy’s in New Braunfels is slated to open in January. Follow the concept on Facebook and Instagram for updates in the meantime.
