According to a recently posted Instagram announcement, Bexar Kolache Co. will end service at its location at 819 Fredericksburg Rd. on December 24. Customers may have to wait a little while before enjoying another kolache, though rest assured this is not the end of the road for the business. Owner Emily Stone has stated that Bexar Kolache Co. is on the hunt for another home in the San Antonio area.

“We’ll be back soon…My goal was to breathe life into SA’s historic buildings by filling a cultural gap in our food scene. I’ve now done it in 2 locations. Where will I renovate next?” states Stone in the announcement.

Bexar Kolache Co. specializes in Czech-Mex cuisine in the form of kolaches, which are pastries filled with different flavors and toppings, such as meat, fruit, cheese, and nuts. The business opened its doors in 2020 and has accumulated a following of almost 4,000 fans on Instagram, where Stone posts photos of the seasonal ingredients highlighted in her baking.

An exact location for the business’ new home is not yet confirmed as the team solidifies a new lease. In the meantime, customers can keep up to date with the business as it searches for another location on its Instagram page and website.
